Why Become a Planter?

Every year a wave of wilderness athletes wash over deforested lands planting millions of trees, leaving new forests in their wake. We celebrate tree-planters everywhere, especially those who continually return, becoming professional tree planters who have planted over hundreds of thousands of trees by hand.

A Respectful Workplace for all

Brinkman expects all employees – Managers, Supervisors, and Workers – to conduct themselves respectfully. Eliminating harassment and misconduct from our camps and worksites happens through: Strong policies and procedures, including rapid response to reports. Camp cultures that support speaking openly about interpersonal dynamics – before they become harassment or misconduct. Training for all employees in how power operates, what front-line harassment intervention looks like, and what consent looks like. This commitment is required of everyone – including our clients and suppliers.

a great camp life

Our camps are organized, fun and social. Brinkman’s cooks are top notch, providing you with lots of delicious, nourishing food that powers you up for the whole day. A larger company means that you get a comfortable and fully functional bush camp – hot showers are a necessity, not a luxury!

quality projects

Because of our strong client relationships, reliable service and depth of industry knowledge we’re in a position to choose which contracts we want – and which we don’t. Most of our projects are with long-term clients who appreciate the level of quality we provide. For our workers this means excellent prices and known projects. We don’t underbid just to accumulate work.

Reasonable work hours

Brinkman works a reasonable work day - we leave at 7 am and come home at 5 pm in most regions. And we usually works three or four days on and one day off – a work schedule that has proved to be the most productive, as well as the one least likely to result in planter injury. This means you will have the energy reserves to work a longer season and make more money. Depending on the contract, logistics or client requirements, sometimes we will need to work extra days, longer hours, or a different schedule.
